Pompeii

I am not really fond of museums. They bore me. There's only one museum that piqued my interest and it is New York Museum of Natural History (remember Night in the Museum?). I went there about 10 years ago and I still remember how amazed I was with the giant dinosaur display. And the cherry blossoms outside the museum were beautiful.

The past few days, I've been passing by the National Museum of Singapore and there's one particular tarp that never fails to catch my attention: the Pompeii exhibit. Finally, today, I actually took time to visit the exhibit.

Pompeii is a town in Italy that got buried in ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The exhibit aims to capture the life in this almost lost and forgotten community and it is really amazing to see what life is like 2,000 (?) years back. I'm most impressed by the fact that social structures already exist in Pompeii back then.
